Scott started showing in 1969 with his first pony "Sparky." Since thast time, he has shown horses, ponies, and minis that range from stock to hunter, pleasure, and even saddle type. In 1974, Scott had a farm accident where he lost his left foot but even that never stood in his way or slowed him down in the least. To this day you would never notice the injury. In 1975, Scott started showing in 4-H and open shows on a more regular basis with the help of trainers. In 1981, Scott attended Meredith Manor for halter, western pleasure, and trail; mainly to see if his disability was going to hold him back in the equine profession.

In 1987, Scott started his studies in the Michigan State University Horse Management program. In 2003, he attended Colorado State University for Equine Reproduction and Semen Evaluation and Transport. Scott started judging when he was 18, and at the time was the youngest person to become a judge. He has had many students through the years from young kids to adults, many of which have gone on to show at all levels of competition, and have earned many state and national titles.

Growing up, Ron has always been a backyard pleasure rider. He never really got too involved with horses on his own. In 2004, Ron partnered up with Scott, and all of that changed. Ron currently owns and works with three horses, and shows
at the Michigan Pinto and Pinto World shows. Ron puts his years of management and business experience to work as the business manager of
SR Performance Horses.
